OPK primarily works with Indigenous men from the age of 16 to 40 years old who have had involvement with gangs, and/or the criminal justice system. We also work with all young people of all backgrounds and genders who are in a vulnerable state and in need of assistance. OPK is grass-roots and very connected to and driven by the community. We offer the following:
Consultation regarding the Mental Health, School, CFS, Addictions & Justice Systems
Consultation & Direct Service for gang affected Youth& Families
Links to Community Resources
Knowledge and advocacy around Housing, Income Assistance, Emergency Shelter, Crisis Services, Probation, Mental Health, etc.
Provide assistance to the Participants Case Manager (example C.F.S. workers, Probation officers, Mental Health workers, etc.)
A connection to the Indigenous Traditional Community (Ceremonies, Teachings, Elders, and Medicine People etc.)
